Ophthalmic acid

A tripeptide occurring in lens, similar to glutathione but differing in the replacement of cysteine by a-amino-n-butyric acid (in the replacement of –SH by –CH3); a potent inhibitor of glyoxalase; ?-l-glutamyl-l-a-aminobutyrylglycine.
