Germanium/Drug Interactions:- 5-fluorouracil5-fluorouracil: Two toxic deaths, both attributable to neutropenia and sepsis, were reported in a phase II trial studying spirogermanium in combination with 5-fluorouracil (61). Significant toxicity occurred in all seventeen patients, including three instances of Grade 3 or 4 hematologic toxicity (62).
